Key Elements of the Mercy Southwest Tower Expansion

  • 142,617 square feet of space
  • Campus redesign with 370 additional parking spaces
  • Improved flow through the hospital will reduce Emergency Room overcrowding
  • Intensive Care Unit expanded from 8 rooms to 24 rooms
  • Medical/Surgical/Telemetry rooms expanded  from 35 to 116
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit expanded  9 bed nursery to 18 private family NICU suites
  • Operating Rooms expanded from 4 to 10
  • The addition of 2 Cardiac Catheterization suites to allow for emergent intervention for heart conditions
  • The addition of Neurosurgery for emergent stroke interventions
  • The expansion of Women’s Services, Imaging and Orthopedics
